HELP NEEDED THIS WEEKEND!
Choose an ornament from the Giving Trees and Purchase a gift to help a local family.
There are still quite a few ornaments left on our Giving Trees and we’d like to see all of these gifts spoken for this weekend. Select an ornament marked with a specific item that you will purchase and then return to the church. We have extended the deadline to return the gifts to Tuesday, December 14. Our Mission Team will deliver them to the charities that we are supporting on December 15. Thank you for your generosity, FPC fam!
Live Nativity Next Weekend!
Our annual Live Nativity is next weekend and we are looking for more volunteers to help make this event a success. Specifically, we need volunteers for the stable scene: Mary, Joseph, the Angel, and a King (Frankensence will be provided. *wink!*) Choose the 5:00 pm or 6:00 pm hour – they are both open! If you’d prefer to work behind the scenes, you can help fill and light the luminaries.
The Live Nativity event is FPC’s Christmas Card to the local community and we are excited to share the story of Christ’s birth to all who visit. Use the link below to sign up to be a volunteer!
At Network 56, We Be Chillin’
Christmas came early for our 5th and 6th graders as they received bean bags in their classroom last week. The bean bags had been on the Children’s Ministry wish list to help create a fun and welcoming environment where students can feel comfortable building relationships with others while building their faith. Thank you!
Stewardship Update
As of December 7, we have received 124 pledges. Our goal is 165. If you have not yet sent in your pledge, there’s still time! Thank you for financially supporting FPC.
A Donation, Just For Fun!
Thank you, Wes Ray, for donating this beautiful game to be used at upcoming Fellowship events! We can’t wait to break in those bean bags!
WEEKLY ANNOUNCEMENTS | December 12, 2021
NEW!
Connect with the Connector!
In an effort to streamline the process for submitting requests for event announcements in the Connector or spoken during the worship service, Communications has developed this easy-to-use online form to share all of your important information.
Click the link below to check out the form and if you have any feedback or questions, please send an email to communications@myfpc.org. Thanks!
On Sunday, Dec. 26, which is the Sunday after Christmas Eve, we will have ONE service at 9:30am. We are going to sing Christmas Carols and hear the stories behind some of our most beloved Christmas songs!
FPC is looking for someone to help in the nursery. We have one person ready to help, but we need two people to run the nursery. If interested, please contact Elder Melissa Schall via email or call the church office.
Stephen Ministry at FPC: Providing God’s Care to Hurting People
What is this ministry about?
Extensively trained and supervised Stephen Minister Caregivers provide high-quality, one-on-one confidential Christian care to anyone in need. They provide weekly visits and ongoing support as long as the care receiver needs. Should the care receiver have needs that are beyond the scope of a Stephen Minister Caregiver, they are referred to professional caregivers.
What kind of care is offered from a Stephen Minister?
- CRISIS CARE – For people experiencing change(s) that significantly challenge their ability to cope.
- FOLLOW-UP CARE – After the crisis event.
- CHRONIC CARE – For a person whose situation is unlikely to change.
- PREVENTIVE CARE – Providing care before a crisis occurs.
- SUPPORTIVE CARE – Care for the caregiver.
How can I find out more about this ministry?
Call the church office at 608-949-9445, or reach out to a pastor or deacon. Stephen Minister Caregivers don’t replace the care of pastors and deacons. They carry it a step further.
